A Question For People With Medical Expertise?
Does anyone know any facts about the risks of hormones - natural or otherwise - in cow’s milk? I have heard that milk is loaded with estrogen, and I’ve also heard that most of it is destroyed during the pasteurization process. I am a guy and I like milk because I know it’s nutritious but I really don’t like the idea of my body and brain being influenced by hormones.
The biggest problem with dairy is the fat. IF you like milk, use lowfat milk. Also hormones are fat soluable, so less fat means less hormones in the milk. I have heard that the BGH Bovine Growth hormone can affect humans negatively, but don’t know the specifics.
Also consider soy milk. The vanilla kind is good to drink ,and for cereal. Chocolate soy milk is also available ,and indistinguishable from cow’s milk. IT contains phytoestrogens (plant derived) which actually block the action of synthetic and natural estrogens in the food supply.
Many pesticides and other chemicals in food mimic estrogen in their effects.
